The Luxeland site is located on the north side of the Sanya East Shore Wetland Park. Although the city plans to develop towards the northeast in the long term to gain more space, this central business district is not yet the most densely populated area in Sanya. The northern side is even less bustling. Beyond the resettlement community behind the base, the city seems to be gradually transitioning into a suburban area. The commercial land adjacent to the wetland park has its greatest advantage in the southern view.

We hope that the building can respond to these two distinct landscape domains. An S-shaped building form helps us create two courtyard spaces: one public, facing the residential area to the north; and the other more exploratory, serving as a connection between the building and the park landscape. The two courtyards are connected through a ground-level open space. The building space extends along the S-shape, forming a complete atrium that creates a comfortable shaded space in Sanya's climate. The surrounding commercial spaces are designed in a through-form manner, creating a dynamic circulation pattern under the atrium, which supplements the pedestrian scale lacking in the new urban area.
